About
Recognised as a thought leader Viv brings innovation, versatility and clear thinking to his design approach and learning interventions.
As a former Audit Manager and Training Manager with a Big Four firm he has an in-depth understanding of the professional services business environment. He brings broader business insights and best practice from his experience of being a Learning Technology Awards Judge for 10+ years.
Background
Viv has always been curious about what makes people and organisations tick. Following a BSc in Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Bristol, he achieved his ACA with Deloitte in London. After 5 years at Deloitte he took the opportunity to transfer to being Training Manager, designing and facilitating business and interpersonal skills courses that were delivered worldwide.
Experience
In 2002 he founded Viv Cole Associates Ltd. Since then Viv has trained thousands of learners in 10+ countries and designed over 500 hours of e-learning. Topics covered include business skills, career development, change management, compliance, continuing professional development, facilitation, induction, leadership skills, NVQs, risk management and systems.
He likes to contribute to good practice in L&D, chairing the Trainers & Developers Network for 5 years, being a director of the eLearning Network for 7 years and he founded the Professional Services e-learning Forum. Along the way he has also found time to be Finance Director of a digital agency, run operations at a digital marketing training company and be a school governor.
Associates
Each project is different. Where the project needs skillsets beyond Viv’s, he draws on his strong network of trusted developers, graphics artists, trainers, coaches and video producers.
Outside of work
Out of work, he likes playing the piano, table tennis, drinking tea, being a father, skiing, travel and playing chess blindfold, but not necessarily all at the same time…
Viv is always keen to listen and share his experience, especially when tea is involved.
